Argentina: INPI updated official fees and introduced a new monthly adjustment scheme
The National Institute of Industrial Property updated the official fees applicable to its services and established a monthly adjustment mechanism.
Through Resolution 75/2026, published on March 20, 2026, the INPI updated the fees applicable to the services it provides, effective as of April 1, 2026.
Additionally, the regulation introduces a new framework for determining official fees through the creation of the Industrial Property Fee Unit (UMAPI), in which fees will be expressed and whose value will be updated monthly in accordance with the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
Key points
- Official fees are updated as of April 1, 2026 with an average increase of 100%.
- The official fee for a trademark application will be around USD 30 and a patent application around USD 70.
- The UMAPI (Industrial Property Fee Unit) updates monthly. Because the exchange rate should fluctuate in line with the CPI, official fees may vary slightly when converted to USD.
