Argentina Regulates Medicinal Cannabis and Hemp: Provisional ARICCAME Permit

Through Resolution 2/2023, the Regulatory Agency for the Hemp and Medicinal Cannabis Industry (ARICCAME) created a Provisional Permit for Activities with Cannabis sativa L..
This provisional permit allows those already authorized to engage in cannabis-related activities to adapt their operations to the new regulatory framework established by Law No. 27.669, which governs the medicinal cannabis and industrial hemp industry in Argentina. In other words, the resolution provides a legal mechanism for individuals and organizations working with cannabis to align with the updated regulations and continue their activities lawfully.
This development offers a legal framework for research and product development involving cannabis and is expected to have a significant impact on industries such as healthcare and pharmaceuticals, as well as scientific research related to medicinal cannabis and industrial hemp in Argentina.
The regulation came into effect upon its publication in the Official Gazette on Monday, September 25, 2023.
