Commitment & Sustainability Policy

NYA recognizes itself as a relevant social actor with the capacity to generate positive impact on matters affecting society, and holds the strong conviction that it can make meaningful contributions to sustainable development from its position. Based on the ethical values and principles that have guided NYA since its foundation, a set of goals and guidelines has been established to align economic growth with social inclusion and environmental protection.

Impact Business Model

NYA provides legal advisory services to companies and SMEs that drive global and regional economic growth, facilitating industrial development, trade, and job creation.

Aligned with this mission, and with the goal of promoting sustainable economic and social development in the region, NYA is committed to expanding access to high-quality legal services. To that end, it offers legal and business advisory services to NGOs, startups, and impact-driven entrepreneurs, dedicating 2,000 hours of pro bono work annually.

Additionally, supported by the Study on the Impact of Trademarks on the Economy (ASIPI/INTA), NYA acknowledges that industrial property—and particularly trademarks as intangible assets—adds value to economies and generates genuine employment, while providing protection for the initiatives of individuals and organizations. For this reason, NYA also commits to providing legal counsel and processing up to 50 trademark registrations per year, pro bono, for NGOs, startups, and impact entrepreneurs.

Commitment to Equality

NYA believes and affirms that all individuals—without distinction—should have equal access to all positions within the organization, and that their compensation must be aligned with their responsibilities, capabilities, and performance.

Measures have been, and continue to be, implemented to attract and retain talent, particularly by supporting primary caregivers so they are not forced to abandon their professional careers.

We consider shared family responsibilities, the appropriate use of technology, and a hybrid work model to be essential for promoting equality among all people.

Access to Food Security, Education, Health, and Well-being

In addition to the pro bono work framework that is part of our impact business model, NYA and its partners collaborate with various organizations primarily focused on:

  • Education as a driver and tool for social and economic development
  • Health, medicine, nutrition, and childhood
  • Well-being and sports

Furthermore, in order to deepen this dimension of sustainability, since July 1, 2022, NYA has formally committed to allocating a percentage of its annual revenue to financial donations. The exact percentage is determined at the beginning of each fiscal year.

Current partner organizations include: Mano de Hermanos, Asociación Los Toritos, Fundación Grano de Mostaza, Asociación Civil Encontrarnos (Proyecto GEO), Padres de Schoenstatt, UNICEF, Fundación Espartanos, FUAR, Cáritas, Colegio San Isidro Labrador, Old Girls Association of Michael Ham School, among others.

Recycling Policy and Natural Resource Stewardship. Path Toward Carbon Neutrality

NYA implements measures to raise awareness and provide training to its partners and collaborators on the importance of efficient resource use.

Thanks to its policies and actions aimed at reducing clean water consumption, improving energy efficiency, managing waste responsibly, minimizing pollution, and achieving carbon neutrality within a reasonable timeframe, NYA has been awarded the “Conscious Offices” certification by Eco House Global. This recognition marks the first step on a longer journey the firm is committed to continue pursuing.

Environmental Policy

NYA’s Environmental Policy reinforces the firm’s integration of, and commitment to, environmental stewardship. Aligned with the organization’s mission and values, this policy sets forth NYA’s commitment to:

  • Ensure environmental protection through the prevention and/or mitigation of the environmental impacts resulting from its operations.
  • Promote the efficient use of natural resources.
  • Identify and manage activities that can deliver environmental benefits to both the organization and the community.
  • Sustain awareness and engagement among all collaborators and partners, fostering environmental education and active participation.
  • Comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations, as well as with NYA’s voluntarily adopted environmental commitments.
  • Communicate relevant environmental information to stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve its environmental performance.
